Jareau’s Story

Jareau first came to Life’sWork in 2009 as an individual in our Youth Program. He is just one of the many real examples of how clients at Life’sWork can transition through our various programs. Though he began in our Youth Program,  Jareau has since had employment opportunities here at our facility and in a small group at various locations out in the community.

Jareau said, “I feel like I have changed and become more independent”, and it truly shows. Jareau requires less direction to get jobs done, is a leader amongst the Mobile Work Crew, and is preparing for his future.

Lasting Independence

Without a doubt in his mind, Jareau told Life’sWork that he won’t be here forever- soon he will have a job in the community working on his own. He is also working on life skills, such as getting his driver’s license, living independently, and planning for retirement. Through the confidence that skills that he gained at Life’sWork and with the help of his Job Coach, we are certain that Jareau is on the path towards even more independence.
