Pittsburgh, PA (April 4, 2024) — Life’sWork of Western PA (Life’sWork) is excited to announce its 33rd Annual Golf Invitational, Birdie Bash, presented by sponsor UPMC Health Plan. The event will take place at South Hills Country Club (4305 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, 15236) on Monday, June 17, 2024. Former Pittsburgh Pirate Kevin Young will serve as the honorary chair for the event. Read more about Kevin Young in this recent blog post.
Funds raised through the community event will support the Life’sWork RECOVER program, serving individuals in recovery from substance use disorders. Through the program, individuals receive talent development training to prepare for the workplace, access to employment opportunities and job placement support, and job coaching to support employment retention.
The team scramble-style tournament event will include breakfast, a full 18-hole course, beverages, snacks, lunch, a banquet dinner, and an awards ceremony to thank sponsors for their contributions. The Birdie Bash will also feature raffles, prizes, games, and a silent auction.
“We are looking forward to a really fun and rewarding event, thanks to support from our presenting sponsor UPMC Health Plan, South Hills Country Club, and our amazing community,” says Life’sWork President and Chief Executive Officer Timothy Parks. “We are thrilled to be able to offer this opportunity for the community to come alongside and support individuals in recovery through access to life-changing services, support, and opportunities for fulfilling employment. Every in-kind donation made, hour of volunteering given, and dollar raised by this event helps change lives.”
Teams are encouraged to register online ahead of the event. Varying levels of sponsorships are also available for the event, each with comprehensive recognition opportunities for participating organizations.
