Mobile Work Crew Team Leader

Job Summary:

The Mobile Work Crew (MWC) Team Leader will directly report to the MWC Supervisor and Director, Business Services.  The MWC Team Leader will be responsible for the on-site supervision and administration of janitorial contracts.  They will assist with the training, evaluation, time management and customer service of crew to ensure that Life’sWork is in compliance with all contract requirements.  They will ensure that all safety guidelines are being followed.  The MWC Team Leader will evaluate cleaning methods as they are performed in offices, cafeterias, classrooms, training areas and restrooms and then provide training as needed to provide quality service.  They must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  They must be able to effectively relate to individuals with various barriers to employment and disabilities.  A successful candidate will have at least 3 years of experience with supervision or training preferably in janitorial, custodial, housekeeping or related field.  The MWC Team Leader must be able to work evenings and weekends.  They must have a valid driver license and be able to pass a drug and criminal background check.

The days of the week: Tuesday through Saturday

The times: 10:00 am to 6:30 pm The pay: $17.00 per hour

Job Responsibilities:

  • Providing training and guidance to mobile work crew clients to provide high quality cleaning services.
  • Directs and leads others in providing custodial services to include all cleaning activities
  • Assigning janitorial duties to clients and regularly inspecting their work to ensure that established standards are met.
  • Provides motivations and direction to mobile work crew team.
  • Resolving conflicts between mobile work crew clients in an efficient manner.
  • Taking inventory of all cleaning supplies and equipment and informing management when supplies are depleted.
  • Issuing cleaning supplies and equipment to janitorial staff as needed.
  • Takes initiative and acts independently to insure needs of the customers are met while working within guidelines established by the agency.
  • Complete daily time sheets for crew and input into time tracking system
  • Performing all janitorial duties necessary in instances of staff shortages.
  • Attending meetings and in-service training sessions as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • A secondary degree in psychology, socials services, or a related field is preferred.
  • A valid PA driver’s license, a good driving record, and current car insurance is required.
  • Patch / PA Child Abuse / FBI Fingerprint Clearance are required within 30 days of employment and this is all paid by Life’sWork of Western PA

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • A team player with confidence to take the lead
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Well-organized with customer-oriented approach
  • Good attention to detail and observation skills
  • Proficient technical understanding and can pick up on new systems easily
  • Working knowledge of computer systems to complete documentation
  • Must have reliable form of transportation to and from work
